Celebrated Kogi Central Senator of all times, Natasha Akpoti Uduangan , Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong among others are currently at the ongoing 148th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), ongoing at the International Conference Centre, Geneva, Switzerland.
Senator Natasha Akpoti described by many as Margret Thatcher of Nigeria is attending the IPU along side some of her colleagues as delegation of the Nigerian Parliament.
OurWorldGist gathered that Natasha Akpoti Uduanghan is favoured to attend this year IPU despite her short time at the hallowed chambers because of her international exposure.
The meeting is expected to afford participating members state to brainstorm on global legislative issues and collaborate where necessary.
This year’s IPU edition is billed to hold from March 23 to March 27, 2024.
The IPU, global organisation of national parliaments, was founded in 1889, and dedicated to promoting peace through parliamentary diplomacy and dialogue.
It has grown into a truly global organization with 179-member countries out of 193 countries of the world.
