The owner of the Hotel destroyed by political hoodlums at Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State, Kabiru Bala popularly known as “#Okwo” has officially reacted on the attack on his Hotel and other valuable properties.
Speaking to OurWorldGist on phone, #Okwo said, “It is true that political hoodlums destroyed my Hotel and other valuable properties at Ejule on 31st May 2023″.
” Well, as law abiding citizen of Nigeria, I have reported the unfortunate incident to Nigeria police office at Ejule and investigation has commenced to unravel those behind this barbaric attack”
” While the investigation is ongoing, I want to say that no amount of intimidation or destruction of my properties will make me to betray my land ( Igala land )”.
” My loyalty before to the outgoing government of kogi state, was a reciprocation of gesture and my personal conviction that Ebira not minding the fact that they are minority should also taste power ”
” As we can see, that has happened in the last seven years plus”.
” Now, to think power should remain with them after manipulating All Progressieve Congress’s ( APC ) primary is a child’s play”.
” Democracy I know is determined by majority vote while minority too have their say”.
” It is on this basis that I reason with my people, Igala who are the majority and also currently championing Igala’s agenda”.
” I want those few with undesirable candidate of APC to know that loyalty before does not represent “Enslavement”.
” I was born and brought up in Igala’s land and my Accestos will not forgive me if I work against the land”.
” I therefore remain determined and resolute with my people in this struggle to reclaim power come on 11th November 2023″.
Meanwhile, the National Secretariat of the Igala Apex body known as Igala Cultural Development Association ( ICDA ), has condemned in it totality an attack on the property of Kabiru Bala Okwo at Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In a reaction, ICDA said, ” it is obviously a deliberate attempt to destabilize and intimidate the people of Kogi East as the state is preparing for another round of governorship election in the state”
The statement appealed to politicians not to allow a repeat of what happened in Kogi East in 2019 election that led to the killings of innocent souls and loss of properties to repeat itself”.
ICDA therefore called on the people of Kogi East to remain calm as effort is being made to take up the looming security threat to the appropriate authorities.
The Association console with #Okwo over the incident and advised him to maintain calm as usual while the perpetrators will be brought to book to face the full wrath of the law.
The Association emphasised on the need for peace and cohesion before, during and after the fourth coming election, stating that, there can’t be development in an atmosphere devoid of crisis and warned those behind the attacks to have a rethink aimed as changing the political narrative positively.
