The immediate Aspirant of Peoples’ Democratic Party’s ( PDP ) candidate for Dekina / Bassa 2023, Comrade Usman Austin Okai has commended  Senator Echocho Jibrin Isah’s  N20M empowerment initiative to 20 selected members of his constituency.

Comrade Usman Austin Okai who described the initiative as a welcoming development however urged the Senator to ensure that fairness, equity and transparency are his watch words while selecting the potential Beneficiaries.

He said for the program not to be hijack by some glutton politicians, Senator Echocho Jibrin Isah should either monitor the program himself or appoint people of proven integrity to help him monitor the loudable program.

He lamented that, he has witnessed program of such noble objective hijacked by some greedy politicians that will end up benefiting, their relations, girl friends and friends who will give them kick-back after the program.

He particularly pointed out that such programs were in the past ended up in the office of Local Government chairmen who normally give to their wards to get kick – back.

He further advised that, those who would manage the fund well should also be encouraged with higher amount next time.

He also said, the potential Beneficiaries should be carefully selected from the nine Local Government Areas in Kogi East instead of concentrating the Beneficiaries from one region or some few towns in Kogi East.

He concluded that there has been remarkable representation from Senator Echocho Jibrin Isah lately urging him to do more as Kogi East is in dear need of development.
