In an effort to boost agricultural productivity and ensure food sufficiency in his constituency, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho has donated hundreds of 50kg bags of fertilizer to farmers across the nine local government areas of Kogi East.
The contribution, made on Friday, is part of the senator Echocho’s legislative support for his constituents and aims to assist farmers in increasing their yield during this farming season.
According to Honourable Ibrahim Amodu, a legislative aide to the senator, the fertilizer donation is intended to enhance the production of food crops, including rice, maize, beans, millet, and cassava.
Specialized fertilizer designed to improve rice yield was distributed to the three riverine local government areas with rice cultivation prospects, namely Ibaji, Omala, and Bassa.
This targeted support is expected to increase rice production in these areas, benefiting local farmers and contributing to food security in the region.
Senator Echocho’s contribution demonstrates his commitment to supporting the agricultural sector in Kogi East and improving the lives of his constituents.
The gesture is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of farmers and their families, as well as contribute to overall food sufficiency in the region.
