The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt,  Pastor Matthew Eleojoh James, has declared that walking with God is the divine pathway to becoming “a god on earth,” living above limitations and manifesting God’s nature in the physical realm.

Pastor Mathew made this profound declaration during today Sunday service while ministering on the powerful theme “Breaking New Grounds.”

Drawing from scriptural texts including Jeremiah 52:31–34, Isaiah 43:18–19, and Joshua 10:12–14, he emphasized that breaking new ground is God’s desire for every believer who chooses to walk closely with Him.

According to the cleric, breaking new ground goes beyond improvement; it is about shattering old records and establishing new ones through divine intervention.

He explained that God is committed to lifting His people into dimensions they have never imagined, causing them to scale new spiritual and physical heights in Christ.

Such elevation, he noted, is the natural outcome of a transformed life and a renewed identity in God.

Pastor Mathew stressed that intimacy with God remains the foremost channel to accessing new realms of victory.

He referenced the biblical walk of Enoch and God’s fellowship with man in the Garden of Eden, teaching that those who consistently walk with God attract divine possibilities that defy human logic.

He added that vision plays a crucial role in this journey, noting that whatever a believer is able to see and internalize in the spirit has the potential to manifest physically.

He further highlighted prayer and fasting as spiritual prices that must be paid to secure uncommon breakthroughs.

According to him, breaking new grounds often demands sacrifice, spiritual discipline, and total dependence on God.

Closely tied to this, he taught the importance of being sensitive and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, describing the Spirit as the divine compass that guides believers into God’s intentions and strange dimensions of power.

Pastor Mathew also spoke on the “strange works” and “strange acts” of God, referencing biblical accounts where God intervened in unusual ways, such as the release of great hailstones and the suspension of the sun and moon to secure victory for His people.

He explained that such extraordinary manifestations are provoked by faith, obedience, and alignment with divine instructions.

Total obedience, he noted, is non-negotiable in the journey of elevation.

He taught that divine direction and instruction are keys that unlock God’s intentions, warning that partial obedience often leads to delayed miracles.

He also encouraged believers to put their mouths to work by speaking God’s word boldly, declaring that silence in the face of challenges often permits defeat, while faith-filled declarations command victory.

In a moment of spiritual charge, Pastor Mathew underscored the power of praise and dance, describing it as a prophetic weapon that turns mourning into joy and attracts laughter before men.

He reminded the congregation that genuine praise has the capacity to shift atmospheres and announce divine triumphs.

Throughout the sermon, Pastor Mathew shared profound spiritual insights, affirming that God specializes in doing new things and that a change in status naturally attracts divine attention.

He emphasized that walking with God is the surest route to the top, reiterating that when a vision becomes personal, it inevitably becomes a possession.

He added that those who allow themselves to be led by God position themselves to be used mightily by Him.

He concluded by reminding the church that prayer and fasting remain the price for breaking new grounds, and until the price is fully paid, the prize cannot be completely won.

Pastor Mathew also recalled that earlier, on January 1, 2026, he had prophetically declared the year as the Year of Divine Elevation for the church and its members.

The service was marked by a powerful move of God, featuring soul-lifting ministrations from the Solemn Voice choir and massive, mind-blowing testimonies that further confirmed the message of breaking new grounds and divine elevation.
