In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Ogenaja Igala Ajeyigebe in Ogbabede Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State came alive on the 14th day of December 2023 as the village celebrated the successful installation of solar street lights.

The endeav9or, a collaborative effort by the residents, brought newfound joy and jubilation to the community.

The village, nestled ajacent Agada community in Ogbabede- Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, witnessed clusters of villagers gathering in the early hours of the day to express their gratitude for the transformative gift of light.

The source of this newfound radiance was a result of the concerted efforts and free-will donations from the sons and daughters of Ogenaja.

Pastor Joshua Omonoji, the Project Manager, addressed the elated villagers shortly after the installation, expressing his heartfelt joy at being entrusted with leading the project from conception to completion.

He attributed the success of the initiative to transparent and prudent management of resources, foreseeing a bright future for the community.

Prior to the solar lights’ installation, Mr. Isah Abuh, the eldest man in the village, and Mama Salome Simon led prayers, invoking blessings and protection for all those involved in the noble endeavor.

They emphatically declared that any ill-intentioned wishcraft against the benefactors would meet a miserable end without fruition.

Providing guidance to the youth on operating the solar street lights, Renewable Energy Consultant Mr. Michael Omakoji Sani detailed the capabilities of the installed AKT and Wellmax products.

He speaks, “these lights are designed to operate daily from 6 pm to 6 am, promising uninterrupted service for at least the next two years.

Mr Michael Omakoji Sani, emphasized the importance of safeguarding the equipment from vandals and scavengers, as well as regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

As the community basks in the glow of their newly illuminated streets, Mr. Sani assured residents that their continued enjoyment of the solar street lights hinges on their commitment to fulfilling their part of the bargain.
