The newly elected Chairman of the Ogabede Development Association (ODA) for Abuja Central, Mr. Gabriel Isah Odiba, has officially assumed office.
According to OurWorldGist, Mr. Gabriel Isah Odiba took the oath of office alongside his executive members at an event held at Emvic Hotel, Nyanya, Abuja on 2nd Match 2025.
In his words: “Ogbabede, a land endowed with vast deposits of mineral resources and valuable economic trees such as cashew, cocoa, coffee, avocado, and many others, remains underdeveloped due to neglect and marginalization by successive governments. I promise to collaborate with distinguished sons and daughters of Ogbabede, as well as NGOs and the government, to drive development in our land.”
He further stated: “We shall work closely with the national body of the association to attract meaningful development to our land.”
Emphasizing the need for accountability from political leaders, he declared: “The era of politicians leveraging our population to secure votes without reciprocating after winning elections is over. We will hold them accountable and ensure they give back to the land.”
Earlier, Mr. Francis Egbunu Ojoh delivered a keynote address during the inauguration on the topic: “Community Development Through Purposeful and Visionary Leadership.” In his speech, he emphasized the importance of:
Promoting community development through purposeful leadership;
Encouraging transparency and accountability in governance;
Enhancing economic empowerment;
Investing in local businesses and creating job opportunities;
Prioritizing education and skill development for the youth through mentorship and training.
The occasion was attended by several prominent sons and daughters of Ogbabede. Mr. Gabriel Isah Odiba, who expressed gratitude for the honour, pledged to work tirelessly to foster the development of the land.
It is noteworthy that Ogbabede is a ward under Dekina Local Government Area, with a population of over one hundred thousand inhabitants, predominantly farmers, businessmen, and women.
