Who is the next fellow to be featured at this time? He is Dr Abdul Adamu, an Associate Professor of Finance.
Since is an abridge version of his resume, what can we say about Dr Abdul Adamu?
Well, Dr Abdul Adamu, has an intimidating resume that ten pages of editor’s write up might not be able to capture all in all about his personality but for the purpose of this publication which is “abridged profile of his personality, we shall limit our write-up to: his birth, educational background cum professional qualifications, Work Experience / Responsibilities, Research work/ publications, Awards & Prizes as well as his personal life.
Before his Doctorate degree was awarded to him, Abdul Adamu was born on Thursday 13th November 1980 to a family of a business man, Alhaji Adamu Ahmadu of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Growing up as a child, Abdul Adamu loves traveling for an adventure, playing football, reading as well as following his father around to the market to learn act of entrepreneurship.
No wonders, despite his love for education, ” traveling, watching football, trading, and reading all remain his hobbies.
Upon his primary school education completion from JNI Ankpa, Abdul Adamu, proceeded to St. Charles’ College Ankpa between 1989 – 1994 for his Senior School Certificate Examination.
Subsequently, after his National Diploma in Statistics from Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, where he bagged Distinction as best graduating student in statistics, Abdul Adamu, proceeded to prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 2000 to 2005 to study Business Administration and he also consolidated on his excellent performance as he graduated with first class honour.
Progressively, between 2008 – 2011, Abdul Adamu, was in Bayero University Kano, for his MSc program and graduated with distinction in Management.
To cap it all, between 2012 – 2016, Abdul Adamu had his Ph.D in Business Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Having successfully completed his Ph.D program, Abdul Adamu, is since qualified to be addressed as “DOCTOR” hence the title of Doctor is now unarguably attached to his initial name.
Doctor Abdul Adamu, who specialises in the areas of Financial Management, Quantitative Techniques and Entrepreneurship has also had a progressive career as a Lecturer at Nasarawa State University from 2007 till date where he did his NYSC and was retained, Graduate Assistant (2007 – 2011), Assistant Lecturer (2011 – 2013), Lecturer II (2013 – 2015), Lecturer I (2016 – 2018), Senior Lecturer (2018 – 2021), and Associate Professor (2021 till date).
Dr Abdul Adamu, is currently an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Business Administration at the Nasarawa State University Keffi. He is also a member of many professional bodies which includes: Associate Member, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Member of the Academy of Management Nigeria, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Fellow of Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers.
As Lecturer, aside publishing over thirty articles/journals to his credit, he has also attended over ten conferences and workshops within and outside Nigeria.
Dr Abdul Adamu, has also supervised many Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, supervised(ing) many PhD students.
He has at various times earned some notable awards and prizes to include:
2006: KPMG Honours Award for Best Graduate in B.Sc. Business Administration
2005: Best Graduating Student in Business Administration department (ABU Zaria)
2004: Best Student in 300 Level, Department of Business Administration
2003: Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship Awards and,
2000: Best Graduating Student in Statistics (Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa).
Dr Abdul Adamu, is happily married to Dr Zainab Abdul Husseini and Asiya Ibrahim with four children.
