Kogi Youth Coalition Movement ( KYCM ) has endorsed the candidate of Social Democratic Party ( SDP ), Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka as her preferred candidate ahead of Kogi Gubernatorial election slated for November 11th 2023.

Addressing Pressmen  on Wednesday being 24th May 2023 at Social Development Centre Abuja, the President of KYCM, Mr Sani Michael Omakogi, along his Executive, said “after due consultation across the three senatorial districts in Kogi State, Honourable Muritala Yakubu Ajaka happened to be the most acceptable candidate by the good people of Kogi State”.

He said, the era of sitting on the fence for thugs and election riggers to decide the fate of over Five Million Kogi People has gone as the association will embark on aggressive campaign to make sure the vote of Kogi People count this time around.

He added that, Kogi leadership should not be descrated to the level where an uncle will lead and handover to his cousin speaking that the idea of Governor Yahaya Bello canvassing for his cousin, Ahmed Usman Ododo after manipulating All Progressieve Congress’s primary has caused dischantiment among the good people of Kogi People adding that Honourable Muritala Yakubu Ajaka is the only Candidate that is representing the wish of the people at the moment.

Sani speaks further:
” People that will access the position of authority should be people of proven integrity not someone who has siphoned or looted public treasury”

” The role Auditor General for Local Government then, Ahmed Usman Ododo, played to deny thousand of kogi civil servants of their entitlements during Governor Bello’s endless screening is still fresh in the minds of Kogi People”

” It is also germane to us how Honourable Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, rallied round the good people of Kogi State when the state was flooded not minding the tribe or region but freely donate relief materials and million of Naira”.

“It is someone like Muritala Yakubu Ajaka that should be in position of authority or trust not someone who has milked public treasury to a pity state “.

The statement added that, those contesting against Honourable Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, from Kogi East are advised to put their personal interests aside but rather rally round him to lead the State come November 11th 2023.

the tale end of his statement reads, “we are aware that Governor Yahaya Bello is sponsoring some candidates under different political parties to scatter Kogi East’s vote but we are aware of those candidates already and we shall expose them at the right time”

KYCM is a registered Organization since 2004 with the aims of creating political awareness, social awareness, educational awareness and cultural awareness with its members cut across the three senatorial districts in Kogi State to include: Kogi East, Kogi west and Kogi Central.
