One Rajan Abubakar, senior legislative aide to Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, representing Kogi East has come under fire following his derogatory statement against Igala Kingdom which he made while trying to promote, Governor Yahaya Bello’s governorship candidate, Usman Ododo to some Igalas.

In a viral video that is trending on social media, Rajab Abubakar who is believed to be from Dekina town has repeatedly said, a vote for any Igala’s candidate other than Ododo in the forthcoming Kogi gubernatorial election would be a waste.

He said whether Igalas vote for Ododo or not, Governor Yahaya Bello who is an expert in rigging knows how to rig his candidate in without Igalas’ votes.

He added that Bello’s rigging style made Governor Gaduje to win second term in Kano, and that of Engr Abdullahi of Nasarawa State stressing that, Igalas’ votes are not a determinant factor for Bello’s candidate, Ododo to win.

Meanwhile, these utterances from Rajab Abubakar, have angered many Igalas to generate the following reactions:

From one Kashimu A, ” I know Rajab Abubakar very well to be a descendant of a slave whose origin cannot be traced”.

He added, ” I learnt his father came to sell Sugar cane in Igala’s land in early 60s shortly after Nigerian independent and decided to settle in Dekina town “.

He spoke further, ” it is unfortunate he is now claiming to be Igala and making some derogatory statement against Igala’s Kingdom “.

To Onu I, “Rajab Abubakar, is a Nupe man and his mother’s ascent is still part of him anytime he speaks Igala”.

To Okpanchi, “Rajab Abubakar, is a hungry man following Politicians up and down if not so, why should somebody of his age still accept to be Legislative Aide?”.

Rajab Abubakar is one lousy politician lately in Dekina town who makes comments without whighing its implications.
