Recently, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has been at the front pages of both national, local & some reputable blog sites.

Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, is not on these media for bad reason but for good reason as his achievements at the Senate is described by many as unequal.

It is in line with this that ABUBAKAR YUSUF, a social commentator x-rayed Senator Sunday Steve Karimi’s record of achievements on what he titled: “Senator Karimi and His Trajectory Achievements At the Senate”.

Let us read what Abubakar Yusuf has to say:
“Senator Sunday Steve Karimi is currently representing Kogi west at the 10th National Assembly and doubled as Chairman, Senate Committee on Services by virtue of his ranking status.

Kogi west Senate was always lucky with ranking advantage, but this time around more luckier with Karimi, a soft spoken, but goal getting personae of our time.

Karimi who emerged as Senate Committee Chairman on Services at the current 10th Senate attracted alot of commendation, after recommending and providing a conducive environment for the current Senate to enable them deliver on their statutory functions through early provision of status vehicles for plenary , oversights , committee works , adhoc assignments, Constituency projects and visits among many others.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Services was a ranking member of the House of Representatives and performed exceptionally well that led to his election in the last general elections held in March, 2023 to represent Kogi west at the red chamber.

Karimi in and out of office has advocated for provisions of social , economic and Infrastructural development of his Constituency and Senatorial district particularly the moribund Kabba -Ilorin road, Bunu, Iluke -Budon road that had cut off the people of the area from the state capital and the entire country.

Back home, Kogi west senator had embarked on remedial works on the roads from his personal earnings, before his election as Senator representing the area, and soon as after his election, he had been at the forefront for the clamour to reconstruct the many decades dilapidated roads.

Aside provision of series of empowerment, palliatives during the yuletide and special session, Senator Karimi had embarked on completion of ongoing Constituency projects initiated by his predecessor and embarked on new ones for 2024, a decision that is rare among federal lawmakers.

He has strategically mapped out and executing his intervention projects in the area of Education, Health, Rural roads, Electricity which included renewable energy and provision of solar street lights, reconstruction and rehabilitation of traditional rulers palaces and residences, along with mega empowerment, training , capacity building among many other critical interventions.

This is away from special programs on education through scholarships, payment for examination, examination coaching and preparation for qualifying exams both at the secondary, tertiary and University level.

The soft spoken, active and publicity shy member of the red chamber has created an enabling environment for engagement of constituents both in the private and public sector to create gainful employment to the people.

Less than one year in office, Senator Sunday Karimi has demonstrated the potential of continuing to represent his people beyond the 10th Senate , having laid down a solid foundation for the overall rapid transformation of not only the entire length and breath of Kogi west Senatorial district, but for the success of the current Senate”.
