Former Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and a member of House of Representative representing Idah Federal constituency 2011 – 2015, RT.HON.ISMAILA ( a.k.a SOULLOVER)  has commended Professor Nuhu G. Obaje for being good ambassador of Kogi State.

Hon Ismail Inah Hussain made this commendation last weekend at Ajaka during a one day seminar organized by Igalamela Community Development Association ( ICDA ) in partnership with the NNPC Professional Chair in Basinal Studies, Professor Nuhu G. Obaje and Team.

Speaking at Igalamela Multipurpose Hall Ajaka, Hon Ismail Inah who was represented by Dr Muhammed Yusuf, a Lecturer at Federal Polytechnic Idah, said, he remained proud of Professor Nuhu G. Obaje for his indefatigable effort towards making his home state ( Kogi State) particularly Igala land great.

Part of his statement reads:
” Permit me to first of all thank and commend the organizers, for this wonderful initiative, and selfless thoughtfulness, with a well Robust and useful topic. “Oil Mining and Oil Prospect On Igalamela Odolu Local Government Area”

” This topic could not have been better delivered by any other person, other than an academic oil Guru, a magnificent oil driller, a great researcher of oil, and by the Grace of God, an oil magnate, Professor Nuhu George Obaje.

” I personally cherish his zeal to replicate what he has practically experienced outside Kogi State to his ancestral Home State.

” It is very commendable, and deserves a lot of accolade from his Community, State, and Nigeria as a whole.

” It is a great privilege to have an astute Professional Geologist like Professor, Obaje from our Igalamela Community.

” We are proud of him. It is a known fact that Igalamela Odolu Local Government is a great custodian of oil resources.

” History has revealed to us that there is oil in Alade, and other places in Odolu axis of our Local Government.

” What we require is Government patronage. We are aware of Government effort to explore oil in the far North, despite their difficult terrain.

” Our son, Professor Nuhu Obaje has been part of the Exploration team. I think the best way to attract government attention is what he has started doing today.

” May Almighty God give him the strength to pilot this struggle”.

Speaking further, Hon Ismail added, ”
On my own part as your Representative in the green chamber of National Assembly between 2011 to 2015, I came up with three oil related motions which have yielded a very positive result today in the History of Kogi State.

” Need to investigate the activities of oil companies and the encroachment of Anambra State into some parts of Ibaji Local Government Council of Kogi State.

” The Resolution sought for were:
1. To urge the Federal Executive Council to declare Kogi State as an oil producing State;
2. Mandate the Committees of Petroleum Resources (Upstream and Downstream) and Special Duties to investigate the activities of Orient Petroleum Resources Plc”.

On a cheering note, Hon Ismail Inah revealed,
“to God be the Glory, the Committee swept into action and invited National Boundary Commission, Kogi State Government, and Anambra State for Public Hearing.

” The outcome was to recommend that Kogi State be declared as Oil Producing State whist Anambra remains an Oil Producing State.

” We are glad to say it here today that Kogi State is now approved as an Oil Producing State.

” Motion on ‘Non commencement of Greenfield Refinery in Itobe, Kogi State.

“Recall that President Goodluck Jonathan announced the Siltation of 3 Refineries at Lagos State, Kogi State and Bayelsa State respectively, and there was a move by the group Managing Director of NNPC then, A.O. Oniwon to relocate it to the other side of the State.

” The motion charged Kogi State Government under the able leadership of Alh. Ibrahim Idris to issue a certificate of occupancy for the location of refinery at Itobe.

” It was at that point that A.O. Oniwon had to mobilize Messrs Wood Mackenzie Energy consulting and Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd, both of the United Kingdom to carry out a Detailed Feasibility Studies (DFS) for the 3 proposed Greenfield Refineries.

” The DFS’s report confirmed that all the 3 Refineries are economical feasible at the respective sizes of 200,000 Barrels per day for Lagos, 100,000 Barrels per day for Kogi State, and 100,000 Barrels per day for Bayelsa State.

” The DFS report was forwarded to CSCEC and the Chinese Banks that offered to provide funding for the refineries.

” Motion on the Federal Government to intervene in the boundary crisis between Odeke and Echeno Communities in Ibaji Local Government of kogi state and Aguleri-Out in Anambra state as a result of oil disputes.

” As a result, federal government intervened and located Nigeria police post at the boundary”.

Hon Ismail Inah also suggested way Forward:
” It is worthy to note here that Igalamela is blessed with well talented personalities who have varied experiences on the field of oil resourcefulness and exploration; Prof. Nuhu G. Obaje
Hayatudeen Isah Sule
Andrew Obaje
Surv. Ataguba (Kogi State Surveyor General Rtd)
Joseph Nuhu Salifu (NNPC Rtd) and
Haruna Idris (NNPC).

” It is therefore my candid opinion that a committee of these noble men and others is being created for them to rub mind, research, galvanize their ideas and provide us direction on how to bring our untapped oil field to the knowledge of the state government and federal government for possible solution.

” It is very important if Bar. Cosmas Atabor is Co-opted into the team for adequate coordination.

” Finally, I must thank ICDA under the able leadership of Husseni Isaac Inah, the invited guests, and all members of Igalamela community who have found time to attend this programme. Lastly, I dove my cap for Prof. Nuhu Obaje for this unique presentation.
Long live ICDA
Long live Igalamela community
Long live kogi state”.

Hon Ismail Inah Hussain is a man that has been endorsed by many groups in Idah Federal Constituency to represent them under the platform of People Democratic Party ( PDP ) come 2023 and from all of us at ourworldgist, we wish him well.
